Ahh, 2.1 TD Xantia does NOT delivery its power/torque the same as a HDi 110..

Taffy, Service interval on the HDi 8v is 12,500 with semi synthetic.. doesn't hurt these what so ever!

Brilliant Paul!! Odd that the reg from an apparently good pump appeared to give the same symptoms as your previous one. Perhaps the previous owner never gave it any beans... Anyway, top job!

I change the oil in my HDi every 6 months, regardless of mileage covered. Doesn't use a drop in between.

About bloody time you found out what was wrong . . . beginning to think you'd lost the plot out there on your own, by yourself, out in the wilderness. :lol: :mrgreen:

I have done the Full Fix on her on previous pages, it was the fuel regulator on the end of the pump...

Simple As!

Yea, not sure Ill get there Still Jim, heater matrix IS showing early signs of leakage, with a slight curry smell and windows steaming up rather then demisting..

NOPE!

I religiously DO NOT beleve in adding ANY sort of stop leak what so ever to any cooling system! if its stopping a leak, what else is it blocking up!

There is one thing. IIRC Valeo require you to use Forte stop leak when fitting one of their heater matrixes for their warranty to be valid. I have got this from somebody else posting it up on the forum.

I don't know, Paul, as I have yet to have the pleasure of doing one. All I can say it that several posts indicate Valeo insist on Forte Stop Leak as part of the installation process for their warranty to be valid;

http://www.frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/v ... ix#p371593" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I found 25 posts under a search for 'Valeo Forte Matrix'.

EDIT; Maybe it is like putting Fernox into a new central heating system to prevent any lime scale from forming and causing future problems?
