Just the engine side loom is my guess Paul.
Rangies are common for it on the td6 engine and BMW's as well. I'm guessing the heat and the movement over time make the cables brittle and break inside the sheaths.

Re: Pauls HDI Xantia Exclusive. Yeesssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!
WE HAVE CRACKED IT
Yes we have! It WAS mentioned before be Possibly RichardW, but I brushed it aside as I assumed it was a GOOD Part!
It wasn't, I swapped it for another and HEY PRESTO! OVer 40 HARD pressing miles, no cutting out!
What was it???

Yes, it was! The fuel pressure regulator on the end of the pump!!!

Where was it.? Well, there was a regulator sat on a bench for about 2 years, I assumed was duff. So today I decided to try it, and put it in. It turned out to be working perfectly! So, I must be surrounded by Duff Ones!

Now if you have a few is it the regulator or dirt in it possibly?
Maybe soak overnight in something like caustic soda, turps, petrol, maybe even nitromors if it's about at all

Nope, NOT messing again, it works and works perfectly.
The one I took out was one that had NEVER been removed from a pump before, however, the tip of the unit had bad wear marks on it, the only time Im changing this again is when the current one plays up, and then it will be a NEW one going in!

How will you cope without the power
At least now you can easily tow the trailer with scrap loaded on it or a vehicle
I know how painful it is with little power

You obviously have NOT tried a HDi 110 in a Xantia. Theres pleanty there! Ive been using her like a 60bhp the last few months, so its nice to be able to use the full 110 bhp now! So, there is no loss to me..

Re: Pauls HDI Xantia Exclusive. Yeesssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!
Why?
I change the oil EVERY 12,500... on the DOT! Its not due for another 5k. Ive not got an oil issue or turbo issue.
She still doesnt use a DROP of oil!
