The reason I ask is because my Pug 306 (same engine but a 90) is some much more resposive and easy to to drive, is it because it's smaller and less weight to pull

Filters ect were done just a few weeks ago

I'm seriously close to putting a turbotuning dt box in it....C5 that is
This is because u must be loosein boost at low revs...does it kick in at 3000 rpm?

My suspension must gubbed then cause when I drive more/less the same rds quite often, and when in the C5 (from the 306) it's worse

Well it should glide over bumps where u would feel a shock from The 306...one thing I know I have to do when driving is follow The car into The corners as in leanin...where as The 306 would feel like it was on rails

Na I doesn't glide, it doesn't bang either (well not all the time) but it's def not as smooth as I think I should, it's def not better than the 306 or a car with ordinary shocks

Before u decide I must tell u ur looking at just over 230 to do this...ul need 6 spheres or waste of time really and new fluid...changing The spheres is something cost effective conpared to normal car...priceing up new springs and shocks would cost prob near 400+! But please please read up on it well first as some of it is not comon sence...anyone can do it but there are precausions etc u need to take...I get my spheres from aep but ask cause there is ALOT of knolage here :)

Thanks for all that Taffy....so I'd be looking at about £230, how come there's 6, I thought it'd be one for each shock, I guess they're buggered then.....I really dont know what to do now if that's the case, as I've got a oil leak too (I know what's causing it though....rocker and cam box).

If I do fix this up, I'll def need to keep and use it for a few years....boat like or not

If the C5 suspension is anything like a Xantia, what you will have is one sphere per strut, an accumulator sphere, and an anti sink sphere. I cannot say for certain where the last two would be, but if Citroen followed the same layout as on the Xantia, the accumulator sphere would be mounted low down on the front of the engine, while the anti-sink sphere will be in the space in front of the spare wheel.

On the Xantia, the accumulator and anti-sink spheres are there mainly as a backup to provide the necessary pressure if the pump were to fail. As the brakes are powered (and NOT power assisted), losing the pressure would lose the brakes. They also dampen out the pressure spikes generated by the pump, which could cause damage to the hydraulic system. I know the C5 is different, so I don't know how the system works on them.

If you click the search button in the top right section of the banner, there is a Google site search box right there.

James,
The C5 suspension is very different to the Xantia/Xm/BX etc.

The pump for the suspension is electric and only operates on demand.
There are only four spheres, one for each ram, on the Hydractive3 system.
There is no accumulator sphere as the braking system is completely separate and conventional :(

Hydractive 3+ systems have additional spheres in the manner of the Hydractive Xantia, switched in for soft mode, out for sport mode.
