Next Thursday Lidl are doing various DIY bits, including what looks like a decent socket set, as well as some ratchet spanners;

Might get some cutting discs. Diamond blades are FTW!

Broke my Aldi electric screwdriver - dunno what happened, plugged in battery and it started smoking a short while later.... However, I still have the old one that had a bath which knackered the battery, so that works with the new battery. Once extension building is finished will see if I can send the smoker back!

Got one of those electric tyre pumps that looks like a toy compressor last time Lidl's had them (because, at the time, the C15 & it's spare were 220 miles apart). Put it in the back, with a tin of gloop, mentally crossed my fingers - & forgot all about it.

Anyway one evening, (after the van & its spare had been reunited) drove out of the lock-up & up to the road, when it became apparent something was amiss: yup, a flat tyre! Didn't have time to deal with it then (+ it was dark, on a slope & obstructing an entrance) so rolled it back into the garage. When I came to tackle it, it was too close to the wall to change the wheel, so jacked it up as preliminary to re-inflating the tyre (a useful tip that, so the pump doesn't have to lift the vehicle as it inflates the tyre) - & found the inner bead had collapsed into the well of the wheel. by spinning the wheel while laying on my back to deliver strategically placed kicks to the tread of the tyre (fortunately the pump hose was long, & flexible, enough to allow a few turns!) that little pump re-seated the tyre AND inflated it to 40psi, without a cooling-off period - seriously impressive!!! I'm well pleased. :P

Can't recommend it highly enough, definitely punches above its weight!

That design of oil filter wrench is very handy for all sorts of jobs (including removing spheres, if the quality is good enough).

Sorry about the short notice, but Aldi now don't update their website as often as they did. However, today (11/02) they are doing a few car bits;
