I am not convinced it's leaking into the rack. The outer end of the gaiter looks too dry; liquid should be weeping there if it were leaky.
My first port of call in these ones, if no spray/stream can be observed, is to put the front up and blot everything more or less dry. Then start the motor and shimmy underneath to watch where drips form.
It could even be a doseur return dripping onto the rack.
After doing an XM ram in-situ, any Xantia rack is a doddle to R&R.

Ok I found the source of the leak. With the assistance of a well know lurker of this board! It turned out to be that LHM gland shown in the second picture. On unscrewing this (after depressuring) there was a out shell of the pipe stuck inside. This was obviously causing a weep when I put the steering on full lock. After several months its caused one hell of a mess. Now all I need to do is renew the steering column boot underneath and I hope job is a good un.
