It could have been that for many years I was used to working in the dark for up to fourteen hours a day (photographic darkrooms) and in the winter (Sweden) there was no daylight to speak of anyway, so used to very little in the way of illumination.

Even now I walk around the house at night with no lights on.

My Xantia (an 'N' reg) was identical to yours. I loved the colour but was on my own there.

Tried to upload a photo but they are too big, will have to GIMP them :(

Steve, everyone hates the gold paint job - even DVLA, they say it's beige

It's easily my favourite Xantia colour

I was led to understand that it was 'Sable' and my V5 confirmed this, although I always though that Sable was black. All my sable brushes were anyway.

Sable, French word for 'sand' isn't it?

I had forgotten that the brushes were made from the tail bristles, not the shorter body ones, so Sable was correct.

It sets it apart from all the other colours - which is one of the reasons I love my XM.

Thanks, I think both ours might have the later type (they both look the same anyway & White is a '98 model albeit with early front end). Yahoo won't let me access the photos properly to zoom in though but the early ones do look a bit like bottle-bottoms compared to the other photo!

I like that colour as well, possibly not dissimilar to Peugeot's "Silver Bronze" as per my dad's old '88 309.

Oh, Thanks. Both ours look like that :? perhaps White truly has a full early "nose"... I wonder if the numbers on the glass are different between early/late S1?

The dipped beam area kind of looks like a distorted Renault diamond...

Not sure if the numbers are visible but both lenses have the corresponding reg number imprinted on them.
