C5 III's don't have has struts in the engine bay? Or have you worn them out already?

If it has, then they're very small - impossible to see with the naked eye. There's a large metal strut on the RHS that has no gas in it. Because it's solid.

So when you open the bonnet you have a prop to keep it up? Or am I confused about what's being talked about?

It could easily me that's not understanding stuff. There is a prop/strut on the car bonnet, of course, but I have seen gas struts (nothing to do with the suspension) on car boots and in some bonnets too. I think the idea is that when you flip the catch to lift the lid, the gas pressure lifts the bonnet up and holds it there.

Ay up!

TBH, I'm OK with the little round rod that pops into a plastic holder on the underside of the lid.

However, my lid is kinked. I lifted the car whithout checking to see if there was going to be a bonnet / roof interface. The bonnet was slightly kinked. The roof truss came off 2nd best and has needed professional repairs!

Hard as nails, my Fifi. She once had a fight with a Fiesta 2, Fifi didn't get a scratch. The front of the Fiesta was pushed back 6 inches.....

Which leads me to ask: is the bonnet the same, ie, is it suitable for strut application?
