They had me reported as a 'drive off' and had not taken any action yet as they were awaiting a response from DVLA on my address.

They were very good, thanked me profusely for my honesty and said it happens quite regularly.

The don't involve the boys in blue initially. The company would have written with an invitation to settle the account in the first instance.

I'm now the proud owner of a 'Drive Off Paid' receipt

I came so close there to blemishing my clean (in the UK at least...) criminal record...

Tim, I'm intrinsically honest too and had I not got it sorted it would have played on my mind terribly...

My one offence in the UK is an SP30 in 1988 on a motorbike.

I was nicked for speeding in Australia, nicked for driving sans insurance in Cyprus and still have an outstanding parking fine in South Africa from 1990.

That is the sum total of my criminal record...
I got arrested in Brazil. It was sorted thus, once my father-in-law at the time (a respected local doctor/psychiatrist and Navy man) arrived at the Police station..

FIL - "here's $500 for a charity of your choice"..
Cop - "How long is this violent maniac staying in Brazil"
FIL - "He's leaving on Friday"
Cop - "OK, Please keep him under control until then... goodbye"...

I did a labour only job for a guy 6yrs ago. He asked me how much it was to be. It was just over a days work and I said 3 and a half........£350 .....right?

I did not know him really but he was nice and a top bloke. We chatted as I finished up and he gave me envelope which I threw on dash of van.....still chatting. As I drove down the road I thought to check cash while driving............... As god is my witness he had given me £3500. all in 100s.

Stopped the van, and straight back. He was standing chatting to a neighbour. On confronting him he said he thought I had been a bit expensive   . He didn't tell his wife how much and took it upon himself to pay and keep quiet as he had arranged the work :-D

I felt horrible for every minute I had the extra £3150 of that man and his familys hard earned. We had a good laugh about it after , especially when he said:

"But I was aware that you Slater guys made good money"

It may be...
Either way, in large doses it can play havoc with your heart.

Not that I'm aware of, well, no more than a decent cup of coffee is. IIRC there's 80mg caffeine per 250ml can. It sounds a lot, but this page

http://www.energyfiend.com/the-complete ... s-caffeine" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and the Red Bull wikipedia page show there's more caffeine in it than a decent cup of strong coffee, and the adverse effects are similar.

My main problem with Red Bull is that it tastes like it came out of my cat..

Those cans must be sleeved Franklin. Drinks cans are so thin they'd simply collapse if used as depicted in that picture...

It must be an advertising piece...

Or maybe the owner hoped it would make it go like an F1 racing car...

Yep they're sleeved! :-D It's the wrapper from one of the large Red Bull bottles that he had lying around and did the job perfectly!

He is an F1 fan! Looks like this now though and gone for heat wrap:
