60mpg from a mk.1 2.2 16v hdi.. would of thought so chris...

Im not sure about the 2.2 16v HDi, ive not owned one. The 2.0 16v HDi is very efficient though and much better than the 2.2. I also get better economy from that than the 2.0HDi 8v, which itself can be very good.

Obviously something wrong with it then, but what? Sorry I didn't read that properly Chris yours is a 2.0L 16v that seems to make a lot of difference.

dont think so peter 50mpg is very good from a 2.2 in fact extreamilly good!! it all sounds in good order for those figures...

That's really trying though Paul, the 406 does 60 mpg easily.

If you ram the cable guides full of red rubber grease it wont attack the outer plastic. Or maybe silicone grease.
