if its not its only a two pin plug and positive from the battery, should be easy to make an extension, it will only tell you when the electrovalve/s are active but then that depends on the hydractive version and ecu version.

I don't believe you'll get live data from an early Hydractive 1 ECU. That came wit the later Hydractive 2..

Most people associate Hydractive 2 with Mk 2 XM's.
The XM actually cut over from Hydractive 1 to fitting Hydractive 2 towards the end of the Mk1 production.
This is about the same time as Hydractive 2 started being fitted to Xantias.
Not sure if these late Mk1 XM's got modified wiring looms and the 30 pin socket for interrogation or kept 2 pin ECU ones.
Someone will have one of these cars and be able to report.
Easiest way to check on the suspension type is to look at the suspension ECU appearance and marked coding.
If it is a square edged pressed steel box either black or silver in colour then it is one of the 5 variants of Hydractive 1.
If it is a die cast alloy case with tapered edges and very small raised fins then it is Hydractive 2.
Coding of suspension ECU's:
Hydractive 1 initial production - H - will also be dated 1989 and have Activa coloured green and white plugs.
Hydractive 1 second version -H1 - dated 1990 or later and have the standard black and white plugs.
Hydractive 1 third version - H2 - black and white plugs.
Hydractive 1 fourth version - H2B - black and white plugs.
Hydractive 1 fifth version - H3 - black and white plugs.
Hydractive 2 first version - H4 - black and white plugs.

Many of these ECU's are plug interchangable but many are also incompatible.
Do not try to use Hydractive 2 in a Hydractive 1 car.
Replace H and H1 like for like only.

Thanks again for everybody's help. My MK 1 1993 has got the H2 system with 2 pin sockets. I did manage to delete Air Con faults.

So yours is a MK1.5, hydractive 2 with a H4 ecu, what plug did the climate control? was it the 3pin green one with only one wire to it or the 2 pin black one?
Have you been on clubxm.co.uk yet? would be nice to see some pics of your car and get it on the MK1 xm register.
