I was lucky enough to of removed a couple of Full Engine Looms so had spare plugs and pins and wires and did this above exactley..

I tried the wire fold over but wasn't clever enough and it kept shorting out on the next. But perfectly fine after useing the proper pins.

I worked in Cable harness manufacturing for 16 years, so it was quite easy to remove from the donar and fit to mine..

After reading this thread I have installed the wires, the switch and the stalk and enabled cruise control in the ecu PR. No.8550. instead using a relay for the NC break switch i have modificated the brake switch like this
Image

The Problem is i keep getting a fault: brake switch coherence P0571. When I press the brake very slowly i can with my Lexia see that the first swicth to be activated is cc NC swicth and shortly after the brake light switch.

How closely should these switches operate after each other ? should it be simultaneously or should there be larger gab ?

I have now installed a relay and using that as NC brake switch, instead of the modified brake switch. And now it WORKS :-)

In the Spanish forum that I took this "how to", the guy made the same (or similar) to your brake pedal modification. And it worked. But the solution with a relay is just fine and quite easier :)

Was it possible ?

No :) The car didn't start.
We opened both ECUs to see if there are any differences. The PCBs looks to be the same, but on the newer ECU some chips are missing and some are different.
The ECU programming was successful, but the car didn't start. There were errors logged about injectors voltage... if I remember correctly.
The good thing was that the ECU was restored to its original software without any problems.

Hello everyone!
I've read this topic a long time ago, and it was very useful, as I managed to install the Cruise Control on my xantia HDI. So, thanks!

Now, I want to fit in a trip computer, but the only one I could find turned to be from an english car (The seller sold it as a normal european one, and... big surprize), so it is in miles. Is there a chance to switch it in km? I have all the wiring installed in my car, but i cannot install this one I have in miles...

No, you can't. It is hard-coded in the display to show only MPGs and in software to calculate in miles and MPGs.
Only temperature can be set in C or F.

Then this is it. I'll try to find another one in km.

The cruise control works only in 4th and 5th gear. is this normal? in some cases it could be better for me to use it in 3rd gear too.
Also, I have a small problem, if I accelerate continous and for a long time in 5th gear from the CC stalk, I get the engine error; I have the engine software modified pretty much, but in normal mode, from the pedal I can do anything and it's working perfect with no errors. Any ideeas?

The Cruise Control is only meant to work in 4th and 5th gears, and this is normal. This is how it is on my C5. I cannot help re EML; sorry about that.

Hello, we've tried to install cruise on my cruise activated Xantia, but we can't get it working. I've read and re-read this topic but I can't find any specific posts relating the the ECU pins and more importantly what wires go to which pins?

Can anybody enlighten me please?

I'm not clever enough to read a wiring diagram. I'd just like someone to tell me which pins on the ECU correspond to which wire. I should have it sorted then.

What kind of stalk do you use? Genuine from Xantia or from other car?
