Don’t you dare Paul  Don't you go listening to that Mr. Smart

I'm making no comments on the pros and cons of Hydractive but Dean makes a very valid point. The key is to get it working properly.

It needs you to work logically and methodically through the system from start to end, do the tests and rectify any faults found along the way.

You maybe just need a couple of diodes

Shout if you want a good guide to diagnosing Hydractive issues and I'll be delighted to help :-D

Phew :) That's a relief Paul! What a difference two letters and an apostrophe can make to the meaning of a message...

Get the car down to Aberystwyth Uni PJM Halls on the 22nd and I'll sort it out for you

Oh well, I'll have to come and see you then when I come over for my North Wales holiday. I will make it a crusade to show you how good Hydractive can be...

Worry not for now Paul, just slap a set of good non-Hydractive spheres on it in the meantime.

If its that bad your Exclusive has got issues  You can easily make a hydractive Xantia ride very similar to an XM ride quality. You could always put it into full time soft mode, which might suit as, if its working, the soft mode should be much softer than a non-hydractive.

Don't give up on your Exclusive 8-)

Paul, when you have a minute have a read through the Activa Buyers Guide. Ignore the Activa-specific bits and go through the Hydractive system tests. That should give you a good idea of the problem yours has.

Has he used it on this car recently though? Joking aside it's all too easy to start going in at the deep end without checking the basics first.

This is true and I gather Paul does a few miles too, so it would be easy to not notice the gradual drop in sphere pressure until experiencing another Xantia.

Excellent :-D :-D :-D Yes, complete with Lexia and Sphere Tester. And it goes without saying you are more than welcome to drop by here before/after if we need to do any remedial work on her Paul..
