Absolutely, parts need to be recovered. There is only a finite parts reserve left.

That is some task! If you were not a pro at welding before, you will be after doing that!

Re: Pauls French Car Blog
Well... I dont blog often unfortunally, but this doesn't mean nothing is being done.. It is but slowly. Half the time Ive not got time for camera shots... anyway. There has been a new addition to my "Family" cars..
To run down other then my OWN cars which we all know what I have, we also have in the family..
Eldest Brother: C3 1.4 HDi
Sister : C4 1.6 16v HDi
Mum a Dad : Xantia HDi, plus NEW : C2 1.4 HDi in place of a 206 SW 1.4 HDi.
And here is...
The story, though some already shown on the Citroen section. Car was advertised as spares or repair... ECU fault, goes into limp home mode. £2000 no offers. Mot and Tax till end of Jan. Went to see the car.. in Blackwood, South Wales and it was tidy enough. Did the deal set off.. Just out the forecort.. BEEEEP ECU Fault. limited to 2,850 rpm..
However, later on the throttle also kept not responing, dumping me at the side of the road. After a key off it came back, but still limited to 3k. I have to Say, Citroen must have paid more attention to seating position. The xantia normal seats give me awfull back pain as they are too low (leather ones with electric dont), how ever, this C2 driving position was far far more comfey even though this base model had NO seat adjustment, or steering adjustment. My back didn't winge what so ever on the way home.
Anyway, after some help from Wheeler, who sugested removing the throttle pedal harness extension plug I was almighty delighted that all faults removed them selfs, and full power was resotred with NO faults!!! I ran the Lexia to check and yup, she was all clear!
The car is a little different to the 206, in that the information display is controled from the radio panel, and it has a built in Diagnostic Info, car configuration, display change etc etc. But nothing, ALL clear.
They have used the car this morning and she is still all clear!
This has to be the best Bargain of the year. Nothing to spend to get her running right! However, there is a list of things to do.
Full service. Not had in for a while from the looks of it. She has 55k on the clock.
Heater matrix at 55k is starting to leak. I wondered why the bloody thing kept steaming up on the way home. Not a long life for 55k on a Matrix.
Both door check straps have broken. So need to get them too.
Otherwise, thats it.
