I like it really so am quite disappointed.
Are there any Citroen BX friendly mechanics on here in wiltshire? If I do manage to keep it, there are a few bits that need doing that I dont have the time to do myself.
I am going to clean and electric mop it later an hope it looks significantly more lovely for her to like it. Fingers crossed. :)

Peter.N. wrote:Congratulations. Engine mount available at not to much cost, I think all the XUDs use the same one, not so easy to fit though, you need to take the bracket off and the drive shaft goes through it, then you need a good press.

If I fit a second hand part, do I still need a press? How is the driveshaft supported in that bracket? Will those two top ones for £20 fit my BX?
I am tempted to try and blag the girlfriend by fixing it as cheaply as possible and tell her I am looking for a replacement car but actually don't. :?
I cleaned the whole thing out today top to bottom with dettol and electric mopped it, used back to black on all the plastic, it still looks well used on the outside but the inside looks better and doesn't smell now.
It is a fun car to drive. But if I am keeping it and keeping it below the radar I need to get this mount done, the cambelt done and possibly the suspension fluid? Anyone able to recommend anyone for this work?

filip, just a thought,

what is your location? there might be some help with a specialist

(non main stealers) nearby. if it costs you £500 a year to keep a used car running these days your doing very very well.

regards Nigel.
