Save an alternator? It's fine, problem was + cables high ohm

Just another thought aswell, is there any chance the belt could be slipping slightly under load due to the LHM contamination ??

Or to prevent contamination, feed it into the fuel tank ;)
Except my hydraulic pump doesn't leak anymore.

Nope, none at all, the alternator is fine, it was the end of some of the positive feed cables in the battery clamp that were covered in verdi gris causing high resistance.
