Hi dynsey

Well ive had the radio tested and it is the set itself they said it was the part were the Ariel plugs in inside the radio that is at fault and needs repair so for the moment ive fitted my after-market one in and its working fine ive contacted my local Citroen breaker and they said another CD radio from a C5 will cost me £30

But before i do anything im going to take it to another radio specialist as the first one couldn't give me a price because the radio had to be sent away but promised it wouldn't be to expensive.

This next guy is situated a little bit further away i used him before and he will check it and do the repair himself in his shop but it all depends on what he charges he will give me a price right there ill let you know how i get on

UPDATE

Dynsey

Well Ive Had Radio Tested Fully Today By The other shop on his equipment and he has confirmed it defiantly is the radio he says the tuner has gone also the cd player is out of order too so really the set is no good and it will cost over £100 to put it right he also told me if i was to get another radio from the breakers it would have to be programmed back into the car which he could do but i would have to make sure what model i get because he can only do certain sets the from the c5 as the radio,s look the same and fit the same but have different model No,s

Just out of Interest Here Is A Clip Of The Shop were i took it on You tube this is also were i found him and he is very good and knows his job

UPDATE

I've brought another original c5 cd radio for my car everything works OK but now i get a loud beep beep every time i switch the Ign on and the radio is working OK though the beep is still there showing there,s nothing wrong with the Ariel amplifier as previously suggested so for now I've put back my after-market radio,........... now my next problem is i have to get the radio coded to the car but i don't know were to try, the guy who tested my original radio cant do it because he doesn't have the programme.... as i hear the vin code of the car has to be imputed into the radio before it will work properly

It can be programmed with a Lexia, any Citroen Franchise should be able to do it for you, mind they will probably charge you more for the five minutes of work required than you paid for the radio, once the Vin code has been programmed the beeping will stop. Best to follow Trainmans advice and see if there is anybody on the list relatively local who could do it.
Your story is interesting because mine also died with a problem identical to yours, read a few more posts on various fori which by the description of the problem could be a similar failure. Seems to me that these radio's could be a problem waiting to happen, though I am wondering if the front end tuner is susceptible to being blatted if the radio is disconnected with the battery still connected.

Hi,
I'm new to this forum but not to French cars and vans. Presently I have one of the last 3008 mk1's on a 66 reg ( 2017 ) with a 1.6 diesel. It isn't top the range, so doesn't have DAB and built screen etc.
The car and everything in it is and in good working order having only covered 30000+ miles, Recently my radio began to lose signal in certain places. Another family member also drives a Peugeot, slightly older and has followed my car comparing radio signals. There's is perfect while mine is not so good.
I've been told and read numerous things that could be wrong, So I've bought a used aerial amplifier and aerial mast, However, I can't find where the old one is located to swap over.
Any help or information would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
John

Can't help you with the location I'm afraid but it certainly sounds like weak signal rather than the radio being at fault. I would suggest that you take the radio out far enough to get to the aerial socket, take the plug out and just connect one end of a 3' length of wire to the centre connection, if that works better that your aerial you will know what the problem is.
