The Visa! OMG I forgot about them, I had one of those in 1989 which my daughter was conceived in
It was more filler than metal I seem to remember, and if you looked down and lifted up the floor mats you could see the road going past as it was so rotten

They can get a tad crusty when they want to! Link.
Wow long time since I saw one, i remember paying the total sum of £165 for mine The one I had was the same red colour as that, I remember the black bit at the bottom of the screen rotting so badly I filled it up with newspaper and filler and fibre glass, and also if I remember rightly they had adjustable headlights that were manual on cable, my cable had seized so one head light was looking in the sky blinding aircraft and the other on the ground about 5 feet in front of the car!
Saxos are nice cars...well some of them at least, the cheaper ones are pretty dreadful if my pug was anything to go by.
My first car was a 1.1 Pug 106 XN - the bottom trim level with the smallest engine you can get. Bought for £700 and insured for £1850 and that was 4 years ago.
Wouldn't like to think what it'd be like now...
Bought my ZX volcane when I was 19 - £800 to insure for the first time. Infinitely better car in my opinion.
If you want my advice, forget about the Saxo for now. Buy something cheap with a lot of miles on it that's cheap on insurance, drive it around for a couple of years (or until it falls apart, whichever comes first). Then get something you want once your now claims discount makes it feasible.
