Excellent stuff Mark :-D I always find it a joy to take out a car you don't use much and then thoroughly enjoy it. How you use and enjoy your ZX is exactly how I enjoy my Activa :-D

I bet that was good fun Mark! Keeping it as a low use car no doubt keeps it that bit more special to drive. 8-)

I've been out in my Activa too, more about that in my blog

bxzx16v wrote:A small update on life with the Zx , I thought I would give it a run on Thursday , so after refitting it's bosch battery back on it fired up without a hitch . I set of for work a good 1/2 hr before I normally do and had a cracking drive over to Langsett to stretch it's legs and once fully warmed up opened it up to blow the cobwebs off  , I forgot how lively this little car is and once over 4000rpm it really does come alive . I think I will be using it a couple of days a week for the work run now that the roads are better . I have also come across a Zx16v which is being broken for spares so I may have a look at this and get the 16v specific parts off it ( or as much as I can fit in the doblo ) which will be quite alot , I will probably come away with the bonnet and doors too which I can store in the shed , I'll post up what I come across .

I wouldn't mind a rear shelf with blind and the clips for the top of the tailgate , also the skirts and the 16v door trims , front foglamps would be good as mine are corroded (as most will have) , possibly even the front wings ?

Thanks , Mark

It's running fantastic Luke , other than the slightly firm ride it does everything without fault , we do miss a few of the bits the Laguna II had though , better stereo (cabasse 6 Cd) , folding mirrors , rear side window blinds and the self dimming rear view mirror , but the Laguna III has heated seats which are great in the cold weather , parking sensors front and rear and not to mention the twin sunroofs , oh and 175 bhp and masses of torque , I really can't fault these 2.0Dci's , a late Laguna II Privelage or initiale would be awesome . Your not thinking of turning to the dark side are you Luke ?

Lol Chris is right! I'm just coming round to the "new" generation of Renaults more and more. I thought the glory days were over but there's still quite a few gems left yet - I'm really looking forward to a Laguna III Initiale 2.0 Auto (because there's no V6!), so I'll be watching your ownership with interest and its great to see its impressing. They are such nice cars, it's a real shame the Laguna badge is gone forever :x

Too right! And a Fart, sorry "Wind". And a Koleos when they're worth F all - about 6 months I expect

I cant agree on the Wind or Koleos though, one is a badly named and ugly car and the other is too bland to consider thinking about. If I was to get a more modern Renault it would be either a LagunaIII, Laguna Coupe or MeganeIII Coupe but not after the facelifts.

What do you think to the new Clio?

I agree about the facelifts. Did no favours at all, as usual.

I think it looks great, have yet to see the interior. I was beside one the other day in my mark one Clio - the size difference was an absolute laugh! It's nice to see a bit of pizazz again after the the bland Meg III.

It was my day off work today so I thought I would nip over to Huddersfield for some essential cleaning goodies , I went around the corner for the car with taking the doblo in mind (crappy weather and salty roads) , but upon seeing the Zx sat there and not having moved in nearly two weeks I thought sod it I'll take that . I must admit it wasn't nice weather but who cares when your driving one of your favourite cars  . It was even trying to snow as I got near the Woodhead . I did notice that the backbox us blowing slightly again on the pipe which goes into the backbox which has been patched up before , other than that it ran lovely , I've got a backbox to pick up from a friend on the Zx16v Net forum so that will sort that out . I called into put some fuel in on the way back as I intend to use her a few days for work . The goodies I got were some finishkare fk108as which can be used on tyres/vinyl/trim etc a great product and especially good to achieve a nice satin look to tyres , next up was some dodo juice basics of bling shampoo which is highly concentrated and good value shampoo , I also got a sample pot of dodo juice orange crush wax to try as I have previously tried rainforest rub which leave a great depth of shine on the Zx , next up were a gliptone leather scented airfreshener and a foam wax applicator , the kind Cyc assistant also gave me a free sample of fk118sc shampoo to try too .All I need now is a break in this terrible weather so I can try some stuff out .
