I'll be in the XM for the full 4 days. Got to give mine another wash after a bit of country laning a couple of days ago, you'd think I hadn't washed it for weeks looking at it out there now

If I've got nothing else to do on Sunday, I might get the polish and chamois leather out

Looks excellent Mark I have to say, I dont ofen do anything with my engine bays, usually a quick rub around with a cloth at service time, but other than that no. Well I do actually clean my C5s, but that is a sea of plastic and so takes about 2 minutes to clean it all ... that is visible

Its definitely going to be a busy weekend, ive got the cars to clean, one or two to polish. Need to collect one of them yet, do some work on the 2cv, all sorts. Then need think how we can get 3 or 4 cars there and back.

Spent some time this evening conditioning the leather in the Zx using gliptone leather conditioner , they have come up very nice .






A shot of the rear headrests , the right hand side treated the left untreated .



That's one job out of the way for Harrogate , next up polishing time .

Sounds like you guys are going to be having fun at the ICCCR
Im travelling back up tomorrow so hopefully might see some Citroens on my way back...i wont be making it to the show though

Too much to do getting ready for next week and a chronic lack of funds after being away for a week with the wife and kids! They are the world champions at spending money and Linda has told me the kids need school uniforms ready for sept so thats another couple of hundred quid gone I hate that kind of thing as its so expensive and you dont have a choice!!!....(calm down Vince)

Mark i started out with a ZX years ago.....have you ever driven a Xantia or XM before?.....i remember driving my first Xantia and getting straight in it from the zx....it was so different and amazing i bought it straight away....and they were £4k at the time too I think thats the most ive ever paid for any car ive bought.

Your right to look after your zx though...they are rare nowadays. I looked for a Volcane about a year ago.....where have they all gone They used to be easy pickings a few years back....its scary how some cars just drop off the map.

Kev being in the xm for the 4 days...you need it really travelling the distances your covering....you deserve a committment prize for the distances you cover for shows have a good trip

I've had a few Xantias in the past Vince 3x1.9 td's 1x 2.1td and an activa . Also had a couple of volcanes and your right they are very rare nowadays . I've always wanted an Xm but never got around to having one . I've been in Chris ( Citroenmads) Xm ct , NICE .

I always wanted a Volcane back in the day....i had to settle for a white zx reflex 1.4.hardly a comparison but a great car it was

I'm a big fan of the 80's / 90's Citroens , the Xm/Xantia era was possible my favourite

Had a great time at the Icccr at Harrogate today , some very nice cars and a good atmosphere alround . I love the job Vince did on Chris ( Citroenmads dads ) Traction what a shine , top stuff Vince . There was a couple of very nice V6 Xantias one an Activa converted to a 3ltr manual , loved it . Not a big turnout of Xantias though and even less Zx's today ( one ) mine . There was a nice selection of Xm 's though which was good . Looking forward to the CXM which is not long away now . I also picked up some microfibre drying towels and polishing clothes from the valetting stall at some very competitive prices , they also sold flags which was handy as I have been after an Italian flag for a while so I could hang it on the wall in the garage next to my wifes Fiat 500

Your ZX was looking very tidy Mark, Im sorry to have missed you, though it was not easy to find people in such a busy event

The Traction did look better just after Vince had finished, since then my dad has washed it twice ... The weather could not have been any worse when we drove the C15 and 6H down, so we had to quickly clean them there.

I might well be calling on yours or Vinces detailing knowledge soon, as I really need to get some gear together to redo the Prestige before CXM.

I definetly be there Chris . I might be via a viewing on a Bx16v which I have seen at a good price ??? But it would mean the doblo going and the Zx taking over everyday . Decisions , decisions . I'll keep you posted on this one .

I saw that too Mark and was tempted however I've enough cars myself, and we've already got one 16v. A bit cheaper and I'd be very tempted I reckon... Evil wheels though... I'd like the lights for the Sport...

Don't think you should make the ZX go into everyday use personally, too nice and rare. Keep it in it's condition...

It's not happening now Franklin , I mentioned it to the wife and she hit the roof . I spoke to the owner this afternoon and it does sound like a good genuine car , rebuilt head , clutch and various other bits done , not to mention a load of spares to go with it , It requires paintwork though the owner says it looks dull , it may machine polish up maybe . I agree those wheels are nasty it wants some speedlines back on it . I just hope it goes to a good home , one last thing it's only had 3 previous keepers too , not bad for a 21 year old car . I really didn't want to run the Zx everyday really but it wasn't an option another car on the fleet would take it to 5 and it would have had to be my doblo which would have had to go , as versatile as it is but it's safe now . Maybe if I could get storage space in the future a Bx16v could find it's way to me
