Welcome to the C5’s pump.

It’s more likely that it’s got nothing to pump from an airlock.
Let it sit for a while to let the oil dribble down or cobble a contraption with a pushbike pump to pressurise the tank.

Very good picture to keep and remember. :D
The capacitor at right sometimes splits and blows the big fuse.

How are you checking the pump? you need to bare in mind that it is only a small pump and it does need priming from the supply side i.e needs to have oil forced into the pump before it will start to suck, I doubt that it pumps air at all.

The original pump that i have on now blew about 5 fuses, ive changed the capacitor and the end of the pump bushes complete, ive had a 2nd hand one running no problem off the car so i know that one works, the one that is still on the car sort of croaks a little bit and gets very hot and will not spin over but now does not blow fuses but computer in car says that command will not be granted when the suspension needs to go up,ive got all the power going to the pump, main earth and power is there and ive got 12v when door is opened to the trigger wire,so problem now must be with the pump with mine,im changing the pump over once i get a dry day, hopefully that will sort it.

put a pump on today,it works, only problem is that ive put a earlier pump(2001) onto a 2005 car and earlier pump has a extra pipe which sends the fluid back to the reservoir so having to go to scrap yard to get the earlier pipe, after that everything should be hunky dory(fingers crossed)

sorry,i dont have a diagram,i just bought a second hand motor, opened it up and resealed it,if the pump works on the bench then it could be the ecu that sits on it,there are 3 wires, one of the wires works off the ecu and tells the motor to start working, thats the only sort of help i can give,i fixed mine and it wasnt a massive job although most garages would not touch with a barge poll

Hello, I have a Citroenc5 x7 from 2008, the buttons when pressed don't react on dashboard, can somebody tell me what to do and where to find the problem? I check all fuses, all good. If a press the sport mode the car will go fully down and not be abble to lift. I lift the car with diagbox little by little each axlle to be abble to drive. The pump seems to work. I get a permanent fault code u2005 ( Vehicle speed receipt anomaly ) and also says no comunication with the suspension ECU, Thank you

The SPORT mode button does not raise or lower the car. That only changes the programme to stay in a firmer ride mode for longer.

Ignore the U2005 fault, that is a ghost fault and is returned when a diagnostic tool communicates with the suspension ECU.

Your issue is elsewhere and can be either a problem with the height sensors or the height settings. Have you been playing with Diagbox regarding the suspension height settings? If so you may well have mucked it up. There is a specific procedure for measuring the vehicle ride height and this is done after taking multiple measurements and calculations to get the figures to put into the suspension configuration. This is only for fine tuning and making small adjustments to the suspension, so will not affect the suspension not rising or falling.

So run another global test and report any other fault codes.

I change the sensors, both of them are new, I check with multimeter, there is power. You think If the measurements are wrong the buttons will not show on dashboard? It also shows me suspension faulty. It's not like the other people have ( suspension faulty max 90 km/h )
