That really surprises me the 1.6 HDI is around the same as the old 2.2
especially in a slightly larger sized car too.

My wife did have a 2006 Mazda 3 TS2 with this engine and I'd say it was faster off the mark than my 2.0 HDI but it is was a lighter car so that expected.

What I really liked was the Crisp throttle response which made it a breeze to drive around town, If the C5 version drives the same it will be a worthy buy for anyone.

The C5II (or facelift) is slightly heavier and longer than the C5I, which makes the 1.6 and 2.2s similar performance even more surprising.

I was going to look at 1.6HDi C5s, as the lower insurance (compared tothe 130 2.0HDi) was appealing and they are the most popular so easier to find. However when I saw this 2.0 I could not resist.
