right seems like weve solved the problem replaced the pipes between bulb and fuel pump with clear braided fuel line pipes we took off were very brittle

Car is now running fine still a few air bubbles but no where near as bad as there was .. just going to replace line from bulb going back to tank as that has also gone brittle

Well, that's good news for you, Teresa. Problem solved :D

Does that mean all of us driving older TDs may have brittle fuel lines :( Better get mine checked

running on filtered WVO I have gone through three squeezy bulbs in around two years they dont seem to like veg oil very much, in the end I invested in a fuel pump which now makes bleeding the filter at filter change time so much easier, the pump just fitted as a replacement for the squeezy bulb a non-return valve prevents the fuel running back to the tank like the vacumm of the squeezy bulb used to.

Veg & derv oil differences is almost the same problem as the difference with LHM & DOT brake fulid.
Rubber lines & seals for one type cant withstand the other type of oil ...

Keep the veg oil percentage low - or go for it and replace the lot

Wonder if it's the waste that does it, with the remains of those acids even after drying.
Not had a problem with Cassy's bulb and that's with what? about 5 years of SVO?
Come to think of it, the only fuel lines i've replaced were hard even before I switched to veg.

I am thinking about replacing the rest of her fuel lines simply because they're so old now.

I think it's just hit and miss given the ages of our cars, most rubber components have gone hard by now so air leaks are to be expected.
Keep the car, you know it makes sense ;)
