It was the very early L322s I was admiring. I think that the ROI is the place to buy these, they are crippled with stupidly high rates of Road Tax with these, so possibly keener to sell.

Its absolutely nuts. I remember seeing a TD Xantia at a CCC Irish rally a couple of years ago, and the road tax was certainly more than the cars value.

A 2.5 TD Xm that I was looking at had an annual tax bill of some €1800 odd!

Better to have a PO box in the north and do it all thru that and drive on the 90days euro cover and then go back or a day to pick up your post :-D

Nice try KP.

I bought a UK Reg car from a guy up in Co. Donegal a couple of years ago. His mother lived in NI, and he had the car registered to her address. He eventually got the fear and sold the car because the customs were out checking for people in ROI runnign NI or GB registered cars on a regular basis.

I was watching one of those Road Wars like programs last nast, but it was the Gards in Dublin stopping UK plate cars to check up on them!

Lost another car off the fleet today. It's really time for shopping!

A friend of mine bought an Avantime yesterday. Java Green, 3.0 V6 Auto, in need of quite a lot of bodywork, but for £1000 I wouldn't really complain!

Still, if your not far from the border I reckon a fair few still get away with it ;) ;) ;) :D :D: D

$1800 sounds about the top end of their rate charges but still, thats more than a fair few P38's!!

Anyway we digress!!

Luke when are we going to see you pass your B+E and buy a flat bed or flat bed+tilt jobby :D ;)

What was the program called as i'd love to see a Paddy version of roadwars!!

There is a Yank version called Repomen or something and is quite funny when they turn up and they sometimes FUBAR their cars when the repo's try to take it off them lol!!

That green is nice, not too birght or dull :)

:) :) I have visions of a 3.5 V6 Vel Satis with a tow bar and a car trailer attached to it ready to tour the country bringing tat home!

I'll find try and catch it again and get the name, it was around 6pm I think on one of those odd Sky channels.

I'm waiting to see what is happening with mine first then I will need to do some serious thinking. Tbh I'm considering buying it anyway, it's just the side air bags having been deployed that's holding me back...

Ahh there are plenty in yards that you can pull them out off and fit in, just like steering wheel airbags :D

Can just imagine the MPG from a 3.5 V6 with a 500kg trailer and other odds n sods on the back!!!

Actually it wouldn't be able to have anything much bigger than a saxo on it would it to ensure it didnt break its MTW??

When do you hear back on the Meg then?? Is it a case like most ins co's of 2 daily phone calls :D

That Renault Magnum is pretty damn fine!! Perfect tool for going around collecting ebay purchases after a lottery win! We'll get there one day :)

Have you ever come across a Vel Satis on Motorhog?

Actually, the problem is the opposite - a complete lack of contact! I was promised an update today at the latest and I've had nothing. Thank God I have the 1 litre Spark to nurse me through this difficult time - it's really something else!

That Meg is exactly the spec I dreamt of when they first came out, just wish it was a 2.0 VVT, then it really would be perfect. AND it's in Cornwall :( We'll see, if it stays around that price then I'll have it!

Finally ventured out of the Renault category:

Imagine the nightmare involved with the doors on this Peugeot 1007

The Peugeot 206 Roland Garros is on my list. This one looks too mushed up for me

I find these Alfas very sexy indeed.

That 206 looks like it only needs a couple of doors. As long as the B pillar and roof aren't mishapen. The sill looks straight.

Never seen one go thru although I recall a long time ago seeing a pretty rear squashed avantime go thru :-)

The Alfa looks good but already has a lot of interest.
Now they do a lot of dealer disposals the damaged ones don't get too much attention with their higher start prices, and they don't do many top end cars either :-(
