Gosh Luke, when I saw the RR and read it was a diesel I thought you'd really gone over to the dark side!!!

Pleased it's only temporary :)

And for a minute there I thought Robert had finally won out and you had an XM....

That RR will be just as thirsty as a petrol but oh so much slower...

Haha that would be some change of heart, Jim! Thankfully not the case, in fact it's only serving to prove that petrol and auto is the way to be :-D

HA - Robert get me into an XM? Unfortunately I don't play into his "future classic" pricing tactics and his always run on the wrong fuel. I'm waiting for a 3.0 V6 to appear on ebay while I'm on the mainland!

Yes, the RR is painfully slow, but parading through the countryside today just proved what fun these can be!

Hahaha yes Jim, exactly - you'll see those Renaults disappearing and being replaced by lines such as "Montego 1.8 D", "Rover 218 SD"

Yes Mark, it is still here. Now parked up with a solar trickle charger plugged in to it and I have no intention of touching it until anyone expresses an interest. I really wish I'd never clapped eyes on the thing, I don't even want cash for it anymore, I'd consider a swap for almost anything [-o<

KP I'm sure I'll see your Rangie at some point. My 36 hours on the mainland last time were crazier than I thought they would be.

Well, one thing to their credit Luke, is they were fitted with PSA XUD engines...

As was the diesel Metro. That had the TUD5 :)

Didn't know that! I won't have my membership suspended then?

To be honest, I can see my self being sucked in by the Vanden Plas badge, I'm a sucker for leather and wood, no matter how bad the car itself is

May I suggest a Chesterfield, paired with Regency side table? Your road tax will be almost nil, and comfort is indisputably lounge-like. :P

No, not likely, you'll have to try MUCH harder than that. Never suspended an FCF membership yet and doubt we ever will...
