I agree, the HDi engines should be sampled as they are an improvement over the TDs in terms of driveability.

The 2.0 16v engine is great, we have had 3 in Xms and they are very refined, reliable and economical units. The manual Xm 16v provided great performance coupled with 40mpg+ on a good motorway run. Impressive! I can't actually understand why they are one of the more underrated Xms, id have one over the TCT.

Paul, if im over that way again ill let you know, id very much like to have a look at your fleet.

We do need some pictures of them though ...

Im pretty sure our Activa was doing around 22-25 MPG, much less around town and when pulling the horse box it wasnt vastly different on fuel to our V8 Range Rover doing the same job! We no longer tow anything now.

Ive stopped saying id like an Activa, as their complexity and potential costs puts me off a bit, but maybe ill get one. Id very much like a petrol car to run along side the HDi and an Activa would suit my driving style im sure.

I still wouldn't BUY an activa, but you see, having a spare TD Xantia WITH an MOT that Ive offered twice with no takers has now come in handy!!

If we do a swap, the Xantia TD cost me a tiny 100 quid to buy... only spent on cam belt, water pump, heater matrix, head gasket and oil and filter. Some of that was paid for.. Need to GET this head swap done now!!

I'd still get one, just to experience it. When you have had your fun/before it breaks sell it on! (Thats what I did 8-) )

Im liking that idea, sell it on before it breaks, know doubt it would break on me though

Could be a very nice summer toy that. I need something else to do over summer, i was thinking of another job but that could work

Some very smart looking cars there Paul, the T plate HDi you have for sale looks in great condition. Have you got it advertised anywhere?

Your X reg looks a bit like a speed boat ... Nice stance! Whats happening with that one, one your going to use?

Hi Chris...

Not just yet.. Ive Emailled a personal contact and Im awaiting a resposne.. if he turns the car down Ill then get advertising..

Though, she is Here to start with

As for the X plate, theres a blockage somewhere - with the turbo bolted up, she wont run.. If I drop the manifold off, OR undo the EGR valve she WILL run... thats as far as I have got.. I need to drop the exhaust off the turbo and see what happens then... otherwise its a turbo fault. Seen a 110bhp Turbo for 99 quid.. which I think is a bargain.

Ah yes, I remember you telling me about that one now, you have so many HDis I lost track  Could well be worth trying that replacement turbo on it, you can always resell it if its not the cause.

Good luck with the sale of the T plater, looks like a tidy example 8-)

Oh, i did mean sell on the replacement turbo if it doesnt fix the problem :D

Excellent, the more you do up and sell on, potentially, the longer they will last for
