Hi Jim & Andy. I was able to overcome the cutting out issue with the idle stop adjustment as you both suggested. In doing so there ended up being some clearance at the idle cut out damper contact point so I had to adjust that quite a bit to bring the damper back into play again. All seems to be running well now so I will give it a good run over the next few days and hope that this time all is good to go.

P.s. Back to my earlier dilema of the tapered bolt fitment for the rear pump mounting; I ended up getting a tapered sleeve machined. I tried modifying a few different tapered head bolts from various Peugeot models but nothing was going to give the fit up that was needed. I should have gone straight to the engineering shop in the first place as the time lost mucking around trying to make something fit was such a waste compared to how inexpensive it was to get a new tapered sleeve made up. Here's what it looks like.
