106 clutch cable adjustment? Automatic aduster/clutch slip

but a bent fork would cause disegagement problems and wouldnt account for the clutch still slipping

Depends which way it was bent I'd imagine. If it was bent in such a way as to be exerting force on the diaphragm via the release bearing them it might slip...
