I've had a gutsfull this week and am significantly poorer and yet in a worse
position despite the outlay. I'd be more optimistic had I got that damned TCT
singing the right tune in it's emissions; I feel beaten and fed up TBH.

If that bit of sea between us didn't make things so much more expensive, I would relieve you of some of your Xms Andrew. But that little bit of sea doubles the cost of some of these project cars.

Sorry to hear that Andrew, im in the same position as Robert, would take some but a couple of hundred quid for a project car doubles and some with transport.

They are only cars, Things will pick up soon anyway.

Hey! I'm trying to lead by example - spend 'til it hurts.

Will I get this one as well? It's a bit rough, I'm told, and would make a good parts car.

Trailer hire is £40 a day over here. Cash is always the killer. You have a good wedge of fuel costs to add onto these project cars.

My problem now is I have the mk2 car transporter trailer and no damned
towcar - crazy as this sounds with all the cars I have in stock - the one I
want to tow with and know inside out won't pass an MOT. It's last chance
this weekend or it goes.

I'm not prepeared to lose another good CX towing [don't want to go there]
and the other readily available Xm's aren't suited to it. I'm left to consider
fitting a clutch to the green 2.1TD s2 Xm estate I thought I'd sold well before
Christmas but it'd be in sufferance. I've been on the cusp of weighing it in
for ages but can't tow it to weigh it in! :x

Sort of glad I don't have an XM fetish, with all you blokes letting great stuff go for scrap price or less. This week's Peugeot spare parts package from John will be about £700 gross value with airfreight.

As a useful benchmark, current price to ship a Xantia-size front bumper to southern climes is over £300. I shudder to think what a Dee bonnet might cost.

Hopefully the beer and skittles money will about cover a replacement BE3 - sounds like the spider gears self digesting. It's all good here; not that I have any trouble spending the freight money on something else between times.

I'm being soaked $750 for towing the car down here. Isn't a typical UK Activa less than £465?

Arrives tomorrow sometime. Exciting! Of course, it may well turn out to be grossly over-represented...

Hmm... As someone said.

Where to start?

Nearside front hit behind headlight has lightly cracked slam panel top corners, bumper and foglight.
Front bumper has been lightly stove in near centre.
OSR door upper hinge is coming away like a Xantia break!
Sundry loose and/or cracked bits of trim inside and to the engine bay.
Rear bumper has been nudged.
Towards full lock the airbag failure light comes on (clockspring issues).
Radiator hoses have been bodged.
Battery dead.
Rear tyres not much life left.
Phone holder holes in dash.
Sounds like it has a dead hole.

Of most concern, is oil in the coolant yet no water in the ATF or engine oil. I'm thinking hairline crack in water/oil heat exchanger either on motor or trans. Anyone know the oil cooler line pressures on a 4HP18?

Cheers, Adam.
