Would you use the whole bottle in one go?

There are some pics in this thread sent by andmcit: Xantia heater matrix renewal

I hope Forte Stop Leak will cure it. I'm very satisfied with their other products (Motor flush, Gas treatment).

I know this might sound a daft suggestion and probably the first thing you checked, but have you checked that your air flow is set to fresh air in and not re-circulate? Two of my friends have moaned to me that their cars have been constantly misty and both have been set to re-circulate. A simple slide of the lever cured it for them.

If the matrix is leaking, then you usually get coolant dripping off a spigot sticking out of the bottom of the heater box just to the left of the centre console. Forte is dead good stuff, been running it in mine for at least 40k without any further weeping from the matrix. 'Fitted' a new bottle when I changed the coolant as part of the timing belt / water pump change a couple of weeks ago. I have no intention of having the dash out unless things take a serious turn for the worse!!

Brady, if you aren't losing coolant, your problems lie elsewhere.

Do you have a sunroof?
Is the boot floor wet?
Lift the rear seat swabs and see if the carpet is dry.
Have you changed the internal air filter recently? If not this may be blocked.
Is the lower windscreen scuttle loose or coming unstuck from the windscreen?

Answer these questions and you will get answers to all the potential water ingress problems with the Xantia. They are all easy fixes.

Yep. Into the header tank. You may have to drain a bit of coolant off to make room for it. The bottle contains 500mL if I remember properly.

It's seriously good tackle...
Hi,
I'm getting myself a bottle of this and gonna try this.
But the rep told me to pour into top radiator hose, NOT into the header tank.
Obviously undoing rad hose would be a mess, as well as having to bleed the system I presume.
I gather you guys haven't issues pouring into the header tank, by the sound of it?
Cheers,
Sam

If that is standard of curry carry out you get locally I would take it back :-D

I have slight smell on heater going on and off. I think it is egress without much loss of coolant.
The forte is in mine.

Valeo must be the worst matrix of the lot. Troublesome in range rover too. They even instruct you to put k seal in with the new matrix

Another possibility for the misting up is a blocked pollen filter. These are supposed to be changed regularly. On my Synergie last summer I could not demist the screen in damp weather. Changing the pollen filters cured the problem. They had not been changed in at least 5 years!

Could also be a partially blocked drain from the aircon/ventilation system.
