Unfortunately you've not finished the job until you remove the FAP. You're not going to find out if the regenerations stop until then.

If they don't stop then I suspect that there's another option somewhere that hasn't been reset by the Lexia.

I easily found suppliers for the Galletto cable - eg ebay item 120677393485, £20 ish. This does have some (?) s/ware with it. Then looked up the price of the ECUsafe DPF removal software, DP03. €500 seems a bit pricey, anything else, any other suppliers out there? Or hints please? Ta.

With the Galleto cable and ECUsafe or similar software would I be able to read and reset fault codes on a 2001 C5 SX 2.0 petrol?

I don't think so. You need the Lexia to do this prpoerly.

There a few other high priced alternatives from the like of Snap-On but a Lexia is now a reasonably priced option for the home mechanic.

A £14 Elm327 USB cable from eBay allows me to do this via my laptop. I can also read and save sensor data, do 'live logging' etc.

Hi Jabo,
There's still a few of us watching this thread. I've got the Galleto cable (eBay) and a mini CD that I think just contains driver s/w. What software do you use to read the data with?

Hi Jabo and all.
I have gone down the route of using the Lexia to remove all reference to the FAP, have removed the FAP completely. Emptied it out, so no obstruction. Now after a few hundred miles it goes right into limp home mode with a maximum of 3k revs. I have a Galletto cable and see from scanning the net that you can upload a standard 136bhp no-fap file via the Galletto cable to the ECU...I have not done this yet, (trying to downgrade to XP.) Does the Lexia only option work, well it seems not. I am searching for a de-fapped file if anyone knows where I can get one or,
Jabo do you have more info on the PCMscan that you have used? The car in question is an 02 C5 2.2 hdi.

You need to be very careful at this stage as your car still thinks it has a FAP system , Lexia does nothing, the ECU has to be remapped and depending on which ECU you have Ecusafe is as much use as the Lexia , if your car is still preinjecting diesel watch your oil level as this might rise , spend the money and get it done right .
For what we are about to receive may we be truly thank full.

Thanks Birdman.
"if your car is still preinjecting diesel watch your oil level as this might rise"..What does this mean, oil level rise? preinjecting diesel?
Does do it right mean go to a remapper expert?
I am not sure what you are saying here, I am a little thick.....Is it not possible to connect with the Galletto cable, read the ecu, have someone adjust it to show no DPF. Upload new file and done! What is it the remappers will do that is any different? Apart from them knowing what they are doing.
Is Ecu Safe, no good? Is there an alternative? Will the ecu file that I will download from the ecu be corrupt due to running in limp mode? And does it matter what ecu you have ie; Bosch, Siemens, etc., with using Ecu Safe.
If sorting out the remap on the ECU is just too dodgy, then I can get someone too sort it, but I like to get in and do these things myself.........I feel that there are alot of c5 owners and others who are having problems with their Fap filters, eolys etc., It seems some are having success, so why is this so complicated?
I appreciate your straight forward answers...

9 times out of 10 ecusafe will work , you can get galleto cables and try first there are plenty of people who will take your map and dpf off it for you , then just put back on your car,
just before regen your car injects more diesel , on some cars if dpf not done right it will keep injecting diesel but won`t be burned off , it can make its way by the seals into the oil ,
going to a remapper just takes the worry out of it ,but you need to go to a mapper that has experience , there are alot of mappers just buying maps of others and sticking them in , a custom mapper is the best ,
but you can try yourself first , as long as you keep original file a mapper can always do it at a later stage if your effort doesn`t work ,
i drive a 407 110bhp that was de-fapped and de-cat , with a remap to 150bhp.

I have the Galletto but is there anyone around that can take the file and remap it?
What about in the mean time re-routing the injection back into the eolys tank?

Hi
I am new to this forum, but I too am looking to alter my ECU file. I've read the ECU with a Galletto 1260. I have a 512K file. The next bit I'm not sure about as there are a lot of dodgy ECU Safe s/w downloads about. Can anyone please help. I have put up with this for the past three years and I wish to remove the DPF and eolys files, just need a step in the right direction.
I want to sort it out before I go towing again as it's quite dangerous at times.
Thanks
Henry
