The two chunky high pressure feeds in front of the starter motor say FDV
to me so it would strongly appear to be a now rare early sinker. They aren't
a totally mystical entity; until a short while back my neighbour had a TD
one but chopped it in through scrappage for a new Clio. Full sawtooth tweed
with manual rear winders and 14"s and trims like this latest eBay car. All
Xantiae are dropping fast - another neighbour couldn't be bothered to fit a
new rear silencer on his VSX 16v 2.0 and scrapped it before mentioning he
meant to just give it to me after I'd been at pains to find best quotes for
exhaust... :x

bought a very tired mk3 golf estate as a replacement that sounded like an
old washing machine. it's a VW so it must be good.

Thanks for that, I've asked, hopefully he'll get back to me today with the VIN.

You've actually just reminded me that a Great Aunt of mine inherited a 1.9 D Sinker about two years ago. She lives in Dublin, I must find out if it's still around.

I'd be very surprised if it wasn't a sinker, as it was registered on the 1st Aug 1993.

If it had been registered a day before it would of had a K plate on it.

These sinkers really don't come up for sale very often now as they are rare cars, so get one while you can!! :D

Maybe we need a sinkers register? Stand up and be counted...

one of mine made it on a K - VSX - 16v 2.0i in burgundy.

OK I got an email back. He doesn't want to supply the VIN, and collection needs to be within 5 days regardless of deposit. I have exams on 14th, 15th and 23rd, so it's going to be far too awkward to fit anything in.

If it's cheap enough we'll see what happens.

Not me, would've worked out too much for me to get home, and I got word of a BX for sale closer to home yesterday.

So, mine'd be a bargain if I let it go for say, £250 to a fellow enthusiast then?

Swansea - handy for the Cork ferry...

hey, if it's such a bargain at that price I could ask some more then!?
Pop it on ebay I guess as it's one of the lower mileage car I have and
I have a few. Only new MOT issue is an ABS light that won't go off
and the sensors all check out so likely just a poor connection.
