2 quickies - oil sensor + LHM level

Is it a swine to get at? as I'm going to have to sort it,
Wifey went out in it earlier, 0 degrees temp, and it was fine. I got in it this evening, temp was - 4, and when I started it up, the yellow oil light flashed on every second for a good five seconds,then it was fine...

oh, how would I check the resistance,plain old multimeter ok? Which setting etc? (as you can tell, I'm a wizz with electrics :roll: )
Do gsf do them or is it a stealer jobby?

LHM:

My spheres are getting past it now I reckon, they're at least 5 years old, and the rear ones look like ww2 rusty bombs,so maybe one has indeed expired/got worse.The car drives ok but not this magic carpet ride, more like a normal coiler. If the car's set on 1st high, it bounces a bit, but if she's on max,to get over deep snow etc, then it's boing..boing,boing lol. I suppose that's normal though? as it's not supposed to be driven on high?
