Tim, a little tip when removing the wireless...

Don't try to remove those screws completely. Loosen them right off and hold your finger over them when pulling the wireless forward. This will save them escaping and possibly falling deep into the centre console and being lost forever.

Ditto when replacing the wireless.

If you want to decode the wireless yourself. Old-Guy's website has the calculator for download and instructions.

That's the problem with a mac, all the useful little bits of software like radio code calculators tend to be windows only

Tim, I've PM'd you a code and instructions...

Hope it's all good...

Sadly doomed at the present..

Jim, got the code, many thanks, trouble is, as alluded to in pm, I can't read the screen, or at least I certainly cannot see anything remotely like, 'CODE' (the red code light flashes, btw the way).

All I have are three tiny dashes/hyphens, and that's it. I've tried numerous combinations of button pushing, including the world famous, 'push at least ten buttons at once to see if it makes any difference', method, to no avail.

I'm reluctant to do it, but would disconnecting the battery at this stage maybe help get it back were it was pre-fiddling?

As an aside, I have another problem that arose as a result of me opening the bonnet in the freezing weather the other day, but I'll do another thread for that.

I still can't get anywhere. This is what the radio is giving me when I switch on.

No worries Tim, I saw it.

Your display is too far gone to be able to enter a code using anything but blind faith.

This is the method. Follow the following exactly after disconnecting the battery and leaving it off for an hour or so:

The code will be:

1298

Reconnect the battery, sort out the alarm and then switch on the radio at the power switch. Wait a few moments. 10 seconds say. Always pause a few seconds between button presses.

Press Station Preset button 1.

Press Station Preset button 1 once more to enter the first digit of the code (1)

Press Station Preset button 2 twice

Press Station Preset button 3 nine times

Press Station Preset button 4 eight times

Then press Station Preset button 6 once only and wait a few ticks.

That should result in the radio bursting into song on the last station you were tuned to.

Just before you try this, let other members confirm 100% that I have described the blind faith method correctly.
