Goodridge offer a pair of the shinies for about £30, from memory. Seemed pretty good value.

I found this seller cheap, fast and helpful from a non-UK-resident's POV.

Activa Stalling !!

No issue with the front brake flexi hoses - I checked them myself after reading XantiaMan's blog -even bought a pair just in case - there was however a little abrasion on one of the flexi hoses to the front Activa Ram - I wonder was this what the advisories were hinting at?
I repositioned that hose to stop it hitting the strut leg & prevent further rubbing!!

That was wise. I had this on my present Activa. The hose had worn thorough the first braiding and was well on it's way to the second

It is worth checking the hoses are correctly routed. The routing is counter-intuitive and easy to put them on wrongly.

Have a look at the Ram Repair Guide. It explains how they should be routed.

The mot tester showed me when it was done, right at thr point where it joins the caliper, if it had two advisories in two years for it i wouldnt mess about, i was going to do it when the discs and pads were done but sold it before i had a chance.

Thanks Gareth - I'll have another look at those brake hoses - I've already done the discs & pads - car isn't used as a daily driver so I've some time to play with.

Activa help

Post by davygr22 »

Does anyone know how to check if the Idle Control Valve is operating correctly - I still have some stalling issues when decelerating to a stop. The engine will idle fine left running - but if I blip the throttle & allow it to return to idle,it frequently stutters to a very low engine speed & stalls - upon restarting it will idle fine - much worse when engine warm.
I've checked all vacuum hoses etc & they appear fine - main dealer quoted over £160 + vat for new IACV !!!!- can these valves be bought anywhere else ??
Thanks.
