Just for all those who would like to believe that FAPs are an aberation that will soon go away, worth having a look at the following, while much of it refers to other places on the globe and is more orientated to HGV's not all of it is. What happens in other places is likely to happen here, maybe even sooner.

ok i got that wrong whats the best way to regen when driving then ive seen so many diffrent ideas on this
c5 2.2 hdi sx

3.5K revs under reasonable load for fifteen minutes should be adequate, the critical thing is that the engine needs to be in a running condition to produce enough heat and flow. Having said that mine seems to achieve it after an hour on the M/Way @70 ish, but I am not clear if that has actually provoked a regen cycle or whether it is that under these conditions the exhaust temp gets high enough normally to burn the carbon off.
