You know the side mirrors are heated, too? :D

When I'm in a properly cold situation, I start the car some time before departure, and run it for a few minutes to get heat into the whole thing. Have found the Xantia a terror for the windscreen base staying cold too long.

i think the passenger has been changed at some point as there is no line down it like I have on the drivers side, plus the drivers side seems tinted, yet the passenger side isnt

I want to go to the scrappies soon and have a nose around, see if I can find another for the passenger that is heated, and an ashtray cover, as mine has been broken off at some point so has no front to it, or a lighter in general, although that doesnt bother me

The more and more I see of these sitting on nice wheels, the more I want to do that to mine! I just want to make it look nicer really, not going for induction kits or mad exhausts as I have to carry my nippers with me, the youngest being 4 months, plus ive done that stage and grown up, but still appreciate a tidy looking car....although at 1 time I HATED french cars, but got this as it was the only thing at the time I could afford and needed a car very quickly, its grown on me big time!

Although the non-original ones my Xant has are nice nothin compares to
Citroén made originals! I saw in the paper there is a set for £55 (without
tyres, came from a car with 34,000 miles on the clock!!). Though I've just
had brand new tyres fitted to the alloys I've got already... Would taking
them off and on again damage the bead ? (E.G make it more prone to
leaking from the bead in later life ?).
£55 doesn't sound bad - depends on condition and what style they are.

The original 15" Activa rims are these:

Standard Xantia 15" alloys are these:

and the black s2 I pictured earlier is sitting on 16" C5 rims if I'm not mistaken!

Your car is an Exclusive which as standard should sit on a set of bobbly
minilite lookalike 15" alloys like these:

As far as taking tyres off rims to swap onto another there's no real big deal
- decent tyre places do this where they can repair punctures etc - the fact
the tyres will be fresh/new means they're probably more elastic than older
used tyres which could cause more beading sealing issues.

It puzzles me why the the Activa had a higher profile tyre, on the same size wheel, with the overall circumference being larger. Did they have the same gearing on the transmission?

Looks wise they do fill out the wheel arches better, as the VSX does look a bit undertyred, and sufferes from a bit of sensitivity to small low speed bumps.

The line is only on the driver's side, it's where the blindspot curve starts.

I'm not sure on the earlier cars but anything after 1997 with 15 inch wider alloy wheels had 205/60/15's.

The reasons for keeping such a high profile tyre on the Activa has been mentioned on another thread, but they give a good ride, and W rated aspect means its stronger on the sidewall and wont flex so much when hot in comparison to a lower speed rating. Grip was never an issue, nor comfort in my old Activa.

17" rims are all very nice but if you go onto full lock in an xantia engine running it will raise and lower the front end banging the front wheel arches against your tyres. not a brilliant idea really.

Those tyres on that car are the same as mine!! Their original!? I assumed they were changed as the only Citroen Xantia alloys I know off are the ones in the 1st and 2nd pic! Fantastic :)
