Ok, that ebay subframe isn't complete with anything attached so more
manageable! By definition, isn't NI in the UK for £14 postage!?

More a pallet job which can cost ££'s.
Andrew
I'm not so sure mate, pallets etc. I've had heavy parcels delivered/received, (backbox,Landrover bits etc) and they're not fussed if it's just got a bit of parcel tape on each end and the dispatch label on the actual big item..they just seem to chuck it on the van/truck and hey ho,everyone's happy :D

NI delivery...hmm,
Now I come to think of it, yes, I'm sure NI is UK... it's southern ireland that's classed as summat daft, like rest of world/europe, aint it? I've posted stuff to NI myself in the past, and I'm sure it was 'in the UK' price range ???

*Edit*

Quick looksee on th RM site, NI is in the UK:

Sorry,I think I was having a blonde moment. I was thinking NI wasn't in the UK...

The seller's quoted £14 for postage, UK,

which includes Northern Ireland,(although he asks for N Ireland buyers to contact him first..for postal rates :? )

So p+p should be as stated,14 quid...

I now know what to look for thanks to you guys. Sorry there were a few blond moments, yes Northern Ireland is deffinately in the UK just as it says on the cover of the passports! Regarding parcel force, a 40kg parcel is about £50 , so this is definately within budget. I will research shipment over the weekend and check out parcel2go when i have the measurements.
Andrew, what a pity you had to have a clear out, but thanks for the thought.
This forum is great, everyone is helpful and it is active.
All the advice has been invaluable.
For what it is worth, the heater module under the fan failed the other day and a chap on Ebay is selling the transistors for £16. Purchassed the kit and soldered them on and now have a fully working Air con system. If any one wants some here is the link . usually the transistors are £4 each, but were not available from Maplins any more.

I recently bought driveshafts from a bloke breaking a turbo estate on Fleabay. Cheap enough, plus he was communicative and fast to post (I bet jgra1 loves those paperweights  ).

If he's still got the car it might be another option. KP found him for me.

Hi James,

I got your e-mail last night, and just spotted this thread.

I'd be on the look out for a cheap Xantia estate to break for bits if you have the space.

If you can buy it at the right price, you would have your rear subframe for free, and any other bits and bobs you may want for your other car.

Good luck with the search. Give me a shout if you need nay help.

Regards

Robert

Hi Robert,
I think you are right, I will keep looking on Gumtree as it seems to work for us in NI. I do have the space to store a donor car. If by any chance you hear of one going at a sensible price, do let me know. Many thanks,
James
