Re: Dean's Activa/XM blog
Evening Gentlemen
A slight update on the Activa front, the car&classic advert seems to be doing its thing, i had an inquiry last friday i didnt notice until i got back on sunday night, i had another two on monday with one guy who is coming to look at it saturday from the island but he sounds like a bit of a pillock and i dont fancy the idea of selling it to him so i might turn that sale off, then i had contact a couple of times from a very nice man called Simon today who is thinking of coming over for a look, the punters are like buses!
Of course it could all come to nothing but then again i could be Activa less fairly soon too
i feel like a drunk who spent all friday night telling anyone who will listen base jumping is for girls but now saturday morning has come and the taxi he booked the night before to take him to his first jump is waiting outside, its all very well saying you want to do something but when it becomes a potential reality.....................
oh well needs must.

Re: Dean's Activa/XM blog
That is good news I suppose Dean, its a cracking car and no doubt the first viewer will buy it. A sad day perhaps but you still have your XM

Re: Dean's Activa/XM blog
As Chris said Dean that is good news, although as you've had it a little while now it'll no doubt be sad to see it go...
If this was in a few years time I'd love to buy it and run it...alas can't ATM...
However, if it comes back to the mainland then it might stay around... Make sure he knows about the FCF!!

Re: Dean's Activa/XM blog
If your someone who gets as attached to cars as I do, it will be a wrench to see it go.
At least you have had the ownership experience and that of a good one.

Re: Dean's Activa/XM blog
Absolutely. I get very attached to my cars and on the odd occasion they do move to a new home I'm only happy it's to a good 'un. I look at it a bit like rehoming a dog - the new owner has to be carefully vetted...Citroenmad wrote:If your someone who gets as attached to cars as I do, it will be a wrench to see it go.At least you have had the ownership experience and that of a good one.
Dean, I'm delighted you're being selective and whenever you need an Activa fix you can always take mine for a spin...

Latest addition to the fleet

It was a cosmetic desaster so its been the test base for a bit of DA action
had to sand the headlamp lenses back as they were completely opaque and polish them back up, got them like new. Going to have a go at getting the wheels perfect tomorrow then ive just got to pop a new drop link on it, ad is already up so i need to get my finger out, she will pay for the DA, my weekend of frivolity at CXM and my Activa's p bushes.
Amazing what you can pick up for £200 isnt it.

Re: Dean's Activa/XM blog
That looks OK Dean
At least it's a MK1 and I believe from what I've heard that the MK1 is by far the best of them...
So, have I read correctly that it will be sold on in order to be able to keep the Activa?

Re: Dean's Activa/XM blog
unfortunatly not Jim, it will just give me the money i need to buy some decent bushes for the activa, may not get rid of the xant untill feb/march anyway, just depends if she's wanted or not.
The mk2 ones are ok but as with all modern cars visability suffers and the car starts to get a bit big, much better chassis though imo, still prefer the mk1 though, just a bit of a bland drive and a bit slow when your used to the activa but that doesnt matter.

Re: Dean's Activa/XM blog
Buying and selling the right cars is not a bad way to make a bit of money, I have done it a couple of times and would like to get into it again. Sadly Citroens are not always the best for this!
Looks a tidy Focus, £200 aint bad at all!
