£70/hr is relatively cheap for a main dealer. £100/h is more usual. (+VAT, of course :( )

Hope it isn't anything serious and can be fixed easily and economically.

Diagnosis

Post by boristhespie »

Okay. Don't want to say it but touching all the wood in the world I am relived a bit. Touch wood, touch wood, touch wood. Paranoia setting in
Aparently needs new height sensors.

Cost £246+VAT

Including diagnosis.

Need to pay upfront for part and the only mechanic who deals with this is going off on holiday until 8th June.

I need car for work. Gadged my parents car for today but they need it.

So not sure. May go to Dundee dealer but will more than likely have to pay for diagnosis again.

Are the height sensors the things under the car which control height? If so this cost me 35 euros on my last car at French dealer (at the time the pound was 1.6 euros)

QUESTIONS

Does this need lexia to set heights gain or can any mechanic do it?

Will I do damage driving this until 8th of June?

The local French Dealer by the way charges under 40 euros and hour!
