Our 2.1 Xm has the bosch pump, seems ok, though ive no idea of the difference. It does drive very well, a local citroen specilist was amased low low its emissions were at MOT time too.

2.1TD in a S2 Xantia is reasonably rare isnt it? As the 110HDi replaced it?

Yup Correct..

The HDi 110bhp WAS first, then the 90 later on.. So any early HDi's on the T or V plates are useually 110bhps..

Another good aspect of a Bosch 2.1 is the fact you can run it on veg oil if you want too.

HDi's should only be run on proper diesel.

IIRC wasn't that approval after a certain engine production date and only for B30??

I would be wary on the 16v models then as i know they cause more issues than the 8v ones.

Everytime i go round to the local breakers, RTN, they have some form of psa taxi car/van up on the ramps with the 16v hdi block fitted getting the head off and the egr being cleaned out.

I agree on the 16v ones, wouldn't want to touch one really! Id far rather a remap or tuning box to be honest...

16vs are facelifted C5s though, which are nice cars and have improvements over the S1.

I really like our 2.0HDi 16v, excellent drive, nicer interior, it just seems better in almost every way to the S1. Its also much quicker but returns the same MPG.

Yes the facelift is very nice Chris, but the 16v lumps are a weak design in the head.. Shame.. an 8v lump in a facelift would be nice.

When it was available I ran the C5 on on Morrisons Biodiesel. It ran just the same as normal fossil diesel. Even after the remap. I ran the A Class on it too for a few tankfuls.

My local Morrisons have now done away with the Bio diesel which I suppose is in response to the environmental impact it was has - food prices and such.
