Yes, same here. Even on my little netbook.

I can see the appeal; it's very counter-PC. Like the "How to care for baby" set of illustrations.

Sorry Jim, dad's in hospital at the moment and that was something I stumbled across whilst looking up what could be wrong with him.

Ahh, I understand fully now. In those kind of situations dark humour like that works..

Reminds me of one of my granddad’s funeral services many years ago. During the service my dad commented on the terrible quality of the carpentry on the coffin. I replied that I didn't suppose granddad was all that bothered and anyway it'll be gone up in smoke in a few minutes..

How's your dad now? on the mend I trust...

He collapsed Monday night and couldn't get back up, absolutely no strength in his thigh muscles.
Paramedic came out, called an ambulance to bring a stair chair to take him down the stairs and then to the L&D, except their chair was broken so a second ambulance was called.
He really didn't know what was going on or where he was. Turns out he has a serious infection throughout his system so they've had him on broad spectrum antibiotics and a drip to try and rehydrate him. I managed to get to visit him yesterday after work and he was perking up but still didn't have enough strength to push himself up the bed with his legs. Today he's managed to walk around a bit and have a shower so he's on the mend.

They believe it was an adverse reaction to the statins he's been on since last xmas!

They've found a few other things whilst doing the CAT scan, so he's booked in for an MRI scan next week.

There's been a bit of controversy over the use of statins recently too. May be worth reading a bit on them. Some doctors think they're great and others think they're the work of the devil.

I've had high blood pressure for years and was a border-line case for statins. Good diet and exercise (more the latter) has now got mine down to that of a teenager :-D

There's like one in 50,000 chance of these adverse effects like memory loss so he was bound to have it! Interestingly looking up statins, some are derived from penicillin whilst others are synthetic. Dad's allergic to penicillin.
