PROVIDED you have something meaningful to occupy your life. When one friend retired he had nothing to look forward to, and died less than a couple of years later, while another friend says he is busier than he was when he was working (fifteen years ago), and still going strong!
Yes, I've known people I used to work with die of boredom not long after they retired...
No chance of that with me with my fleet of AXs to keep healthy, parkrun, cycling, my massive social circle and looking after a needy house to keep me very busy... And not to mention my close relationship with my own children and my granddaughter
After retirement, it's so important to keep up a routine and have a reason always to get up and get out of the house every morning...
Steve, just seen your latest... Just like my own dad... It was a fall that did for him at 92... Until then, still living independently and busily active...
