seriously ditch the 954cc if you want to nos or do anything like that, 1.6 8v engines are very cheap to come by and slot right in with huge gains.

I can confirm hedgaskets are prone on 1.0 Axs. When i got my AX the heagasket went. The engine sounded knackered so i replaced it with a low mileage Saxo 1.0. Th headgasket had already gone on that and was sent another engine. Which seemed ok but used a bit of water until i put in some forte rad stop leak. Then the gearbox gave up so id had enough.

The 1.0 is surprisingly able in an AX, as it weighs nothing. But im not sure id even bother doing anything performance related. Obviously this would effect your insurance anyway and you wont be gaining much if anything.

Fun little cars the 1.0s, mine was great.

Id consentrate on getting it handling and braking right. Then sort out a new power unit ...
