Probably not a huge amount more than the Xant, I did quote for one a while back, nothing stuck in my mind about the premium being any more shocking than it already is.
Would ideally be a S2 Hatch 2.1 TurboD Bosch pump with Air Con. S2 for the airbags, Bosch for use of duel fuel and Air Con for the summer and demisting capabilities. Overall condition could overrule Air Con, not fussed on spec level or gearbox type as search could become difficult

I have been walked through a hill start in a lovely black manual XM hatch by XMX and a chap on the XM forum, it looks rather fun so manual is the preference! Saying that though, I think I'm right in saying that the South West of England's quota of 2.1 TurboD manuals are currently owned by Peter.N

Hi Kev.
Many happy returns on your 20th Birthday !

On a couple of occasions I've nearly sorted myself out with one but then reality hits back as I would be pushing it on the finance front having two cars on the road, need to look into storage options really and timeshare them on insurance until it gets to a sensible price, one of the down sides of being a teenager
Check out the insurance from today, now you are no longer a teenager (Hopefully it will be slightly cheaper) !

Hmm, thats asking a lot  Finding a 2.1TD manual is hard enough, but finding one with air con is almost impossible. In fact i dont think ive seen such a model. There must have been some though. Your more likely to find a automatic with air con. I think id go for manual and not aircon if it had to come down to that decision. Besides, you will have a sunroof.

Hill starts are good fun, very easy and second nature when you get used to it, which doesnt take long. Its more manouvering into a tight paralel parking space on a hill which makes the juggling of feet the smiling and laughing as a result.

Oh, and Happy Brithday! :D

OK. Hill starts with an XM. I am new to the XM and I think I've worked it out: but what's the best method?

Off or go: at clutch biting point release hand lever on dash!?
Auto is the same as the drive can still hold until the hand dash
lever is released.

On: hold car on footbrake with right foot and into neutral
or P then with the foot lever applied with left foot and locked
by hand lever.

Hardly big dramas manual or auto!

Are you serious!!??

Not heard of the S1 SED 2.1 td?? Theres one already here, and Im about to get one aswell!!
Both Manual - but only one drawback! They both have Mechanical Lucas Fuel.. Because they are both 1990 H reg cars!

Though I shall be changing mine to Bosch the moment I have any trouble with the pump.

Ah, sorry, should have said .. i was referring to S2 cars.

2.1TD in the S2 is either SX or VSX. Exclusive does have air con, but i cant remember seeing a 2.1 MANUAL, just autos.

SX didnt have air con, neither did VSX, but it was optional.

Anyone got a S2 2.1TD Manual with air con? That would be my dream Xm!

The last two bought by club-xm members were manual aircon, I looked at both of them, you need a Mk1 SED.

Andrew,
The only files I have are the ones in my workshop for filing/shaping Metal !

So Kev if you you really want to know how I knew ?
Anybody that logged onto the XM forum yesterday could have seen 'Who's Birthday is it Today' displayed at the bottom of the 'Board Index' home page.

Simples :!:

I don't know if you've spotted the Prestige XM on E-BAY I posted up on on the XM Forum, this could make a nice entry to XM ownership if the price holds reasonably low, but its got the Sluggomatic box and it's a Petrol so I suppose that's a non starter for you !

Also just spotted one near to you (Portsmouth) which I've posted details of on the XM FORUM too.

Best to look/log onto the XM forum more frequently so you can check out if any-one has spotted an XM that's For Sale and of course when its your Birthday.

My series1.5 TurboSD manual has both aircon and sunroof, is this also something of a rare beast then?
