I can't leave it without wheels unfortunately as it needs to be moved if I need access to the ramp with anything else that breaks so need to keep it mobile.

Strange that yours didn't crack, Jim. I know a few people who have commented on Michelins cracking quite badly.

maybe I should look closer at them David but they've just sailed through an MOT and I'm sure, knowing my MOT man,. he'd have commented if there had been any deterioration in them...

Maybe I just got hold of a lucky batch!

Well it's been a while since I updated this.

Not much has happened really, the 407 is behaving itself in daily service, the C5 passed it's MOT without even an advisory and I've been pondering the idea of my next project.

I've seen on the net that people have been putting V6 engines into Berlingo vans. There's a few things that I use the Range Rover for that I don't really like using it for in case it gets filthy so I end up taking the trailer for tiny jobs which is daft, Trips to B&Q or tip runs etc.

So, I'm thinking about buying a little Berlingo van and dropping a V6 engine into it. I've managed to find out that a 1.6 HDi with a knackered engine is probably the better buy as it's already got a hydraulic clutch on it, whereas the 2.0 HDi is cable clutch so the whole pedal box etc would need swapping.

Time for some thinking I reckon.

Hmmm, I wonder what a Berlingo with a V6 2.7l HDi engine with professionally fitted Nitrous Oxide would be like?

Can you use Nitrous oxide to any benefit on a lean burn engine like a Diesel ?

I have already been chatting with David. As mine is a multispace I don't think my one would be what David wants, but it has put ideas into my head, as if I'm not good enough at that myself [emoji23]

Quite local to me there's a xsara vts and a pug 406 2.1 td for sale as breakers for little money with alleged good mechanics. Trouble being I would have to pay someone to do those kind of things.

A V6 engined Berlingo van would be fantastic , I've seen it done in a Zx16v and it looked a good fit . I hope this will happen David it might help with me wanting another V6 and a van again .
