On the 308, front parking sensors require a different parking ECU and harness from the front to rear of the car. Does the 407 require these?

Not from what I've read and seen on the parts catalogue. There's one part no. for the ECU and no mention of a different loom.

Fingers crossed!

No :( The guy who is supposed to be doing the welding has done nothing but mess me about.

I've got 13 working days left and I'm off for 6 weeks so I'm going to take it somewhere to get the welding done whilst I'm off, then hopefully we can get it in for an MOT.

Can't wait to see it up and running. :)

Fingers crossed that whoever you take it to are a bit more keen to actually do the job!

Well, the parts for the 407 are on their way.

2 directional xenon headlamps, and the parking sensors with the wiring loom. Hopefully they should be here shortly.

Looking through the parts book online I'm fairly confident the parking sensors will work, however, I didn't realise until after I'd paid for the headlights that Peugeot specify a different main wiring loom for the car if they were fitted with directional headlamps :(

Does anyone know if you can get copies of the wiring diagrams online? This might let me work out what additional cables are required and where they go to/from and see if I can fit them.

I've got a servicebox account - I think for a modest fee (used to be 5€) you can dive in for an hour and pull off wiring diagrams. I've got an installed copy of Citroen service which has diags, but unlikely the C5 ones are the same (that part no draws a blank on Citroen)....but you never know!!

I forgot about service box. I've paid for an hour subscription and have saved loads of the repair procedures which will be quite handy when changing the condenser.

I can't find wiring diagrams though :(

D'uh...my fault the diagrams are in SEDRE - presumably there is a Pug version of the same thing? Seems so, here's a possible lead to a download: http://garageforum.org/Thread-Peugeot-S ... tilanguage I tried looking on service.citroen for the X7 but I couldn't see a directional lamps option...

Yes there is a Peugeot SEDRE. My install is not working at present, but I am sure it has 407 diagrams.

I've downloaded the Citroen & Peugeot version of SEDRE now. It totals about 12GB for Peugeot and nearly 20GB for Citroen, if anybody wants a copy of it I'm more then happy for you to stick a pen drive in the post, I'll load it on and send it back to you. :)

Well the C5 has turned into an attention seeker again at the moment... I noticed the other night when I drove it there was an intermittent hesitation between 1200 and 1500rpm. It felt like a misfire. The easiest way to describe it is a jerk, as if a petrol has died and caught again.

I put Lexia on it and it was showing a fault with the EGR valve on the back bank. I cleared the fault and within 2 days it was back again. Yesterday I dropped the car off at Citroen Glasgow to get looked at. I didn't hear anything from them yesterday but around midday today I got a phone call saying that they believed the EGR fault code was a red herring and that it was likely to need a new rear turbo! They were going to try and reinitialise it and see what happened. Apparently 85% of the time this failed but they needed to try it.

Two hours later I got a phone call saying that it was indeed the EGR valve and not the turbo charger however they'd cleared the fault code and it hadn't reappeared so they were going to get their driver to use it for a day or two to see what occurred. I don't like other people driving my cars, and it always bothers me as I'll bet there's not many 240bhp cars that need to be driven.

Anyway, within 2 miles of leaving the dealer it was spluttering on the motorway when I was in traffic. I put Lexia on it again tonight and the fault has indeed reoccured so it can go back tomorrow morning for them to order an EGR valve and get it sorted out. I must say, I'm eternally grateful that I bought a warranty for this car when I bought it!

Also, it turns out that the LDS leak that they fitted a new pump for last month that cost the warranty company nearly a grand hasn't cured the LDS leak either! That'll be an interesting discussion between Warranty Direct and Citroen!

Bad (and good!) luck David.... I really like the look of the X7, but tales like yours of expensive failures at young age / low miles really puts me off!!

I wonder how much the EGR valve is, and how hard it is to replace? Step 1: Remove engine :?:
