All this 4B4 talk is crazy, if your missus had the driving skills of a blind badger and she drove your kids to school every morning you would buy her a Range rover too

XM Prestige PRV6 92
Talbot Express Autotrail Chinook 89
Mitsubishi L200 Trojan 14
Xantia Activa 95, sold (missed)

Service Citroen is awesome, it shows me pictures of all the parts i used to be able to buy............

Always wanted a landrover for proper green laning and mud plugging as well. can't do it very well in a xantia even at full hieght as there just isn't enough ground clearence :( and no 4x4 traction on wet muddy inclines either..

Can't abide the Range Rover or any other plushroader thing , arrogant , rude cars driven arrogant rude people.

Proper off roaders are another thing though. My Dad had 3 which despite my initial reticence I was quite impressed with , actually very impressed with one of them !

First was a Landrover County 90 Turbo Diesel , off road it was amazing , build quality was ok if you didn't look too closely !!

Second was a Merc G Wagon 280 GE . off road was even better than the Landy !! Build Quality was outstanding and was also very comfortable. On winter days like we are currently having it was a superb experience , I have never known any car defrost as quickly as that did and even on sheet ice it was quite drivable. This is the very impressive one !

Third was an Izuzu Trooper 3.1D , now I really wanted to hate this one , but , it was very good !! Not quite as serious as the other 2 but good engine , very comfortable and effective off road.

Best tow car of the three was the Merc , but it did have that 2.8 , straight 6 petrol engine so slightly unfair advantage.
Now using '00 Xantia LX HDI, pov spec :(

Thats why if i get a 110 the isuzu engine will be going in as i think its the 3.1td has the bosch pump on it and the 3.0 doesn't though may be wrong. and apparently plenty have been converted this way from the TDi 200/300 engines as well as the older TD engines as well as cheaper and more reliable :D

I thought the Jap diesels used their own Nippon/Denso pumps, which from what I've read on the interblag are internally similar to the Bosch pumps, thus quite good at handling SVO/WVO.

Had a friend with a vauxhall midi van with an isuzu diesel engine in, he ran it for 3 years on 95% SVO without any mods, sadly the pump was finally killed by some bad biodiesel

Very true :) my bad but there are near enough the same as licenced from Bosch to be copies IIRC but then some are worse than others for SVO...

Izuzu are great diesel engines. As stated many Jap pumps are licensed Bosch ones. Kikki diesel are one. Bosch are still the world leaders in fuel injection.

If it`s an in line pump it`s good for veg. Rotary pumps not so suited.

Those Gwagon are something. The chassis on them are about 4mm thick

Landys are poorly built but easily fixed and even improved. This is my latest project. It has a Galvanised chassis and is tax exempt 8)

Bit late here but thought I would post anyway ...

If we're talking NEW cars, there aren't that many that I like, but I can probably think of 5.

VW Golf mk6, or the new Scirocco (even if it is fat)
SEAT Leon, or the new Ibiza
VOLVO C30 (the one before the "face lift" model, now it just looks mental) or possibly a V50
SAAB (hate to say it but I quite like the styling, and they look different, even if they are built crap)
SKODA or HONDA

Don't like Korean, Indian, or when it comes to it, Chinese cars.
