You want a nice 2.1TD in there Steve Easy enough in place of a 2.0TCT as well as blocks, mounts and so on are pretty similar.. Get one with a Bosch pump and not even any ECU to worry about...steelcityuk wrote: until I track down and fit a diesel engine for the XM.

Hi Jim,
That's exactly the plan, a nice simple straight forward 2.1. A top end rebuild with a port and polish on the head and manifolds. Sell the 2.0 TCT and the LPG kit. If I can't find a scrap XM (I won't break a salvageable one) then it's a scrap 406/Xantia and parts to convert it to Bosch.
Due to the timescale involved that's why I bought the A Class. Apart from the harsh ride I really like it.
