There's still give, but it's noticeably firmer. I blew a front corner being a mug lair recently, and it was still able to be pushed up and down.

A dead sphere also weighs more, as it's full of fluid.

In very cold climates Citroën use sphere's of an alternative specification, believe the diaphragm is made of a different material or double skinned. What the reason is behind that I've not yet discovered.

Very low temperatures make rubber harden , if they do use different material for cold climates it will be a compound that remains flexible at those temps.

It's - oddly enough - the same spec for high temperature countries. A polyurethane of some type.

Here's a pic of double diaphragm "M" (Multicouche) from mine and I think they are more durable than single diaphragms.

But even a M-type sphere is not forever... Last summer my Xantia made me learn more about these issues ...

LHM+ has very good cold characteristics (-20°C and below) and when the car gets warm then the suspension becomes
completely normal, no difference.

Polyurethane is a good material , flexible at low temps , good heat resistance and very durable. Expensive though , which is why it isn't used as a hose material very much.

i've found a slight leak on the rubber hose onto the pump. citroen part i presume?

If it's the suction hose then it can be replaced with any good quality fuel hose.
I've asked about this problem in the forum recently. There are surface cracks on it but fortunately it's not leaking.

From memory that is a pre-formed moulded hose so yes it will be stealer only part.
