Great.
Used the Xantia for the first time this morning - new tax you know.
Lovely, gliding along on the potholed roads of Stoke, nice and warm, radio on. Nothing at all like the Land Rover.
I'm going to enjoy this.
First job is a new accumulator sphere this Saturday (drops almost immediately after switching off engine), then a full service.

Excellent stuff Dave That's what they're all about! The only problem is that after a while it all gets a bit normal if you know what I mean and then it's time to drive something else to remind you what makes a Hydraulic Citroen special...davewithington wrote: Lovely, gliding along on the potholed roads of Stoke, nice and warm, radio on.
I'm at that stage now with mine. Next week I'll be driving my daughter's 206 a good bit and I'm sure it'll make me fall in love with my Xantias all over again.

Tell you what, I'm amazed at how flat the car's attitude is when driving.
My favourite test corner is round the old Fenton railway station (very sharp right hander, swoopy left and 90 right) which I've driven in a variety of vehicles from Bedford CA through XJ6 to a 2CV, and it's closest to an ex-works 1275 S Mini Cooper a colleague used to have.
Impressive.
A few jobs to do, but I'm not investigateing anything till I'm used to it.
Great value though.

Most definitely. I used to drive Austin/Morris 1100s a lot, sort of bargain basement Hydropneumatic with a wheel at each corner (this was just before the first GS), and the Xantia feels very like those, but without the bounce. haven't had chance to drive another well known and interesting road yet, that will be this weekend.
